Design Review Committee
Are you interested in building a patio, installing a hot tub, a parking pad, painting your home, planting a tree, and planting a vegetable garden? While we love to encourage neighbors to improve and enhance their homes, the Association has a responsibility to ensure that all projects are completed with an eye to quality and with the suitable application of materials; while ensuring sensitivity to Wellington Neighborhood residents, as well as preserving the architectural character of the neighborhood.
This is why we require neighbors to submit plans for review and approval by the Design Review Committee (DRC) before any projects begin. To get your project off to the right start, just follow these easy steps:
Step One: Determine if your project requires approval from the Design Review Committee (DRC). You can download our Design Standards & Application Cover Sheet here. These will be your road map to approval. Your project may also require approval from the Town of Breckenridge Planning Department. Please see the Design Standards, Section 2, for projects requiring DRC approval. Contact the Town of Breckenridge Planning Department at (970) 543-3160 to determine the level of review required by the Town of Breckenridge. DRC review and approval is the first step in your project. Please note that fence projects also require submission of the Fences Coversheet.
Step Two: Prepare required materials to submit to the DRC for review.
Step Three: Submit your application to the DRC & HOA Office (digital copy emailed to HOA@AEPropertyManagement.com is preferred).
Step Four: Await a decision from the DRC.
Step Five: Following approval, Obtain necessary permits and approval from the Town of Breckenridge Planning Department -- we highly recommend an initial meeting before submitting your DRC application and another meeting to discuss the necessary steps to seek TOB approval & permits. Finally, Commence and Complete Construction of your approved project.
Step Six: Notify the DRC of your completed project for their review.

The DRC is a committee of neighborhood volunteers who review and approve proposed improvement from neighbors. Members of the committee are appointed by the Board of Directors following a call for applicants.
